The Second Annual Race for the Summitt 4-Miler benefiting The Pat Summitt Foundation will be held on Saturday, March 22, 2014 at 9am here on the UTHSC campus! The event, hosted by The University of Tennessee Health Science Center College of Pharmacy’s American Pharmacists Association Academy of Student Pharmacists (APhA-ASP) chapter, supports the former Lady Vols basketball coach, Pat Summitt, in her endeavor to find a cure for Alzheimer’s disease.
There are multiple ways for students, staff, and faculty to get involved. You can register to be a runner or walker. Get a group of friends or family members together and sign-up as a team! Then, after the race, join us for a post-race celebration in the Health Science Center Park where there will be free food, music, raffle prizes, and a performance by The Memphis Breakers!
Not a runner? You can become a Memory Donor, which is a $15 donation and you will receive an official race t-shirt!
You can register to run/walk or donate at www.raceforthesummitt.racesonline.com.
ATTENTION ALL UTHSC STUDENTS! New this year is the UTHSC Race for the Summitt competition! The UTHSC college with the largest percentage of student runners and donors wins a trophy and an ice cream party! Make sure to join your school’s team when registering so they can receive credit for your participation!
We hope you will join us as “We Back Pat”! Please email raceforthesummitt@gmail.com if you have any questions!
