The University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC) College of Dentistry Alumni Association presented its 2016 Outstanding Alumnus Award, the association’s highest honor, to Philip Wenk, ‘77, D.D.S, president and CEO of Delta Dental of Tennessee.

“We are essentially the equivalent of a stroke center delivered to the doorstep of the patient,” said Dr. Andrei Alexandrov, University of Tennessee Health Science Center neurology professor, chairman of the neurology department and medical director of the stroke ambulance.
The University of Tennessee Health Science Center reported no such offenses in 2014 or 2015.
The conference encompasses materials science, biology, physics and chemistry. The annual regional event is being co-organized by the University of Memphis, the University of Tennessee Health Science Center, Vanderbilt University and the University of Kentucky.
Dr. Jim Bailey of the University of Tennessee Health Science Center has been awarded $5.2 million in funding from the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute.
Samuel Dagogo-Jack, MD, FRCP, of the University of Tennessee Health Science Center has received a $1.1 million grant to continue the Diabetes Prevention Program Outcomes Study. Dr. Dagogo-Jack, who directs the Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism in the College of Medicine at UTHSC, has worked to fight against diabetes throughout his career.
