Pancreatic cancer is one of the most lethal diseases, with little treatment available. Each year roughly 44,000 Americans die from pancreatic cancer, according to the American Cancer Society. A $300,000 grant is aimed at helping find a cure for pancreatic cancer. University of Tennessee Health Science Center has been researching a cure for years, but thanks to this grant from the Kosten Foundation for pancreatic cancer, they are one step closer.
Valeria Raquel Mas, PhD, has been named Director of Transplant Research for the UT- Methodist Transplant Institute. She will also hold the Transplant Institute Endowed Professorship in Translational Research at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center.
