Dr. O’Brien received the 2016 International Transplant Nurses Society’s Research Grant Award for her proposal “The Use of Mobile Technology in Kidney Transplant Patients.”
Chad Epps in People on the Move
Dr. Epps began his new position as Executive Director of Interprofessional Simulation and Patient Safety on June 1 and will be the first to lead academic programs in the $36.7 building, which is slated to open next year.
Marshall Elam in ‘People on the Move’
Dr. Marshall Elam, Professor, Department of Pharmacology, has been selected to be on the executive committee for the PROMINENT study, an international clinical trial that will test the effectiveness of a new cholesterol lowering medication called Pemafibrate and its effects on reducing the risk of heart attack and stroke.
UTHSC names director of new patient safety center
Chad Epps has been named the new executive director of the University of Tennessee Health Science Center’s (UTHSC) patient safety center. The new, $36.7 million Interprofessional Simulation and Patient Safety Center is currently under construction at UTHSC and is expected to be completed next year. Epps will assume his new position June 1.
UTHSC grad wins Congressional fellowship for flu research
Laura Lasiter, a recent graduate from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC), has been selected for a fellowship that will allow her to work in a U.S. congressperson’s office for a year.
