Assistant Surgeon General in Memphis to present report on oral health

The Assistant Surgeon General was in the Mid-South Monday. Rear Admiral Timothy Ricks was at UTHSC’s College of Dentistry. Ricks oversees the dentists who serve in numerous federal agencies. Some of those include the Federal Bureau of Prisons, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Immigration and Customs Enforcement Health Service Corps, and others.


Mind-Body Wellness Center coming to UTHSC

A wellness center featuring Pilates, yoga, and mediation studios is opening soon on the UT Health Science Center campus. The 3,200 square foot space is currently under construction on the second floor of the Student-Alumni Center on campus. The Mind-Body Wellness Center is in addition to UTHSC’s campus gym.


Federal funding will put more skilled nurses in rural, underserved areas of the Mid-South
