Health Dept. will announce when more COVID-19 vaccine appointments available

The phone line — 901-222-SHOT (7468) — to schedule appointments (for those without internet access) was scheduled to open this morning, but Health Department staff took appointments over the weekend, according to director Alisa Haushalter. The online signup opened last Friday.  


Pipkin Building set up to vaccinate 80-100 per hour

What a vision: Eye institute receives $300,000 grant

Hamilton Eye Institute at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center received a $300,000 challenge grant from Research to Prevent Blindness for studies in the university’s department of ophthalmology. The money will be distributed over four years. UTHSC will match the grant.
