Brian Henderson, third year student pharmacist, has been selected for a rotation at the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Division of Drug Information. Henderson was chosen for this experience from a national pool of applicants and will travel to Washington D.C. for the month of January 2015. As part of the rotation, Brian will have the opportunity to attend FDA advisory committee meetings and congressional hearings while interacting with pharmacy students from schools across the country and learning about pharmacist career opportunities in government. Brian says he is “looking forward to learning more about the FDA’s drug information resources and MedWatch program. I am very excited for the opportunity to provide answers and information to a wide variety of people including physicians, pharmacists, pharmaceutical industry representatives, and patients.” Brian also encourages anyone with an interest in learning more about what happens behind the scenes at the FDA to apply for the rotation as well.
