Chick-fil-A will open August 20 at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center Food Court located at 920 Madison Avenue.
The opening of Chick-fil-A marks the completion of a series of improvements to the UTHSC Food Court, which celebrated its grand reopening in early 2019. Chick-fil-A is the fifth vendor at the location, joining Coletta’s, Southern Hands, Soi Number 9, and a new full-service Starbucks, which opened July 20.
“We are excited about the addition of Chick-fil-A to our campus amenities and see this as a significant contribution to the growing vibrancy of the Medical District,” said Kennard Brown, JD, MPA, PhD, FACHE, executive vice chancellor and chief operations officer for the University of Tennessee Health Science Center.
Hours for Chick-fil-A will be Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Food will be prepared fresh daily onsite. Guests can expect to find a majority of their favorite menu items as well as seasonal items at the location. The breakfast menu will be served from 7 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. and lunch from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Employees will be following safety protocols, including wearing masks and gloves.
Trey Murray, manager of the new Chick-fil-A, says the location is the closest Chick-fil-A location serving the downtown and Memphis Medical District community.
“I’m excited that people in the Medical District will be able to just walk to our location and grab lunch and not worry about having to drive,” Murray said. “We are ready to start serving people fresh and good food to make them happy and make those relationships with guests from UTHSC and the surrounding area, and keep them coming back.”
The UTHSC Food Court is open to the public. Visitors to the Madison Plaza will be required to have their temperature checked at a security checkpoint desk prior to gaining access to the building.
