Catherine Womack, MD, associate dean of student affairs in the College of Medicine at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center, graduated in the first class of the UT Executive Leadership Institute. The inaugural class included 17 faculty and staff members from each University of Tennessee campus and institute.

The Executive Leadership Institute was created by UT President Emeritus Joe DiPietro before he left the position in 2018. The program was designed to prepare internal candidates at the various locations for senior leadership roles by focusing on executive coaching, mentoring and experiential learning. The candidates were nominated by their supervisors and competitively selected for the program.

Dr. Womack stated that she hopes what she learned in the Executive Leadership Institute will help her become a leader at UTHSC who “promotes excellence in its students, faculty and administration.”
