At the American Pharmacists Association-Academy of Student Pharmacists (APhA-ASP) Annual Meeting in March, the UT College of Pharmacy chapter was recognized with multiple national awards. The National Immunization Award is given to the APhA-ASP chapter that provides the most immunizations to patients in numerous innovative events, excluding those given as part of a student’s paid internship. The UT chapter won for 2013. It is no stranger to this award, having previously won in 2012. UT also took First Place in the “Humorous” category of the PharmFlix competition, where students produce short films promoting the profession centered around a given theme, which this year was “Be the Change.” Finally, UT was also recognized as the second runner-up for Division A Chapter of the Year, which recognizes “superior programming among chapters that envision the future of pharmacy by creating opportunities for student participation.”
