2019 Campus Food Drive at UTHSC Brings in 20 Boxes of Food and More Than $1,500 for the Mid-South Food Bank

Faculty, staff, and students at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center donated 20 boxes of food and $1,542.97 in monetary donations to the Mid-South Food Bank as a result of the 2019 Campus Food Drive.

UTHSC partners with the Mid-South Food Bank each year to host a campus food drive during the holiday season. Faculty, staff, and students can leave donations at more than 20 locations on campus. The initiative is led by the Office of Special Events and Community Affairs.

The Mid-South Food Bank works to fight food insecurity in the 31 counties it serves. According to its website, the Mid-South Food Bank distributed more than 16.2 million pounds of nutritious food to over 220,000 people last fiscal year.
